Hi, I'm Charles Richard Cotton. Players, students and parents call me Charles.
While the title above lists me as the "SoccerGenius System Founder", my role as dad to my three beautiful daughters is by far the most important one I get to play in life. In fact, it's because of this role that I've been fortunate enough to create the SoccerGenius System. It was during the early years of coaching my eldest daughter's teams that I created many of the ideas, techniques and elements that are now the foundations of this great development program for kids.
And, of course, all of my daughters continue to be a huge inspiration to my work through their unconditional love and constant reminder to "play" in all areas of life.
The SoccerGenius System and Training program is really an antidote for the "kick and chase" and "win at all costs" approach that dominates much of the soccer experience for millions of children and youth around the world.
My work is based on my 35+ years of experience; as a player, internationally licensed coach, youth development expert and a soccer parent. I’ve combined what I consider "the best of the best" of soccer teaching, a practical approach to Fair Play and everything I know about the medical and human potential sciences. The results (in classes and gameplay) continue to serve as inspiration for the growth of the system.
Specifically, the Soccer Genius programs continue to expand and improve through:
- My own ongoing commitment to self-improvement and awareness
- Studying and learning from the game in all its forms and from as many perspectives as possible
- Getting and using feedback from students and families
- Integrating the continuous advancements in athletic and personal development
That's why, for example, I teach SoccerGenius Training using accelerated learning techniques that allow players to learn faster, increase self-awareness and confidence and have a lot more fun playing the game.
I know this is just the beginning of a very exciting, long-term soccer success story. I invite you to come out and observe or have your child join in a free session or class. It just may be the best thing you do for your child's long-term soccer development!
From My Soccer Genius to Yours!
